Welcome
How it all started

After having build our home in 2005 (a lifetime work in progress) and having a few acres to spare, I thought it would be nice to have some horses or highlanders roaming around the lush pastures. Colleen wasn't so keen on this idea since they are just too massive to handle and to much manure; back to the drawing board.
In the fall of 2008 I went to a county fair in the Lanark Highlands and low and behold my heart was smitten by these gentle looking alpacas. A year goes by and this time Colleen went with me to this same fair. The same alpaca farmers Silent Valley Alpacas. were there and from that point on there was no holding Colleen (well both of us) back.
After attending Alpaca 101 seminars, doing a lot of research, and visiting many alpaca farms and shows in the immediate and not so immediate areas, we made the decision in January 2010 to acquire our foundation herd from the alpaca farmers we first met at the county fair - Silent Valley Alpacas.
We maintain a small herd of high quality alpacas. Our goal is to create each generation of alpacas to be superior to the last. We are dedicated to helping others in creating their own alpaca farm and to share this wonderful and gratifying lifestyle.
In addition to selling alpacas, we sell raw fibre, roving, yarn and finished items like scarves, shawls, hats, socks, gloves and other alpaca related items.
